Mental Healthcare - Hurricane, UT, US
Among the myriad of Residential Treatment Centers nationwide, not one has been designed and created explicitly for adopted youth and their families. Until now.Current studies indicate that 30 to 40% of the clients at adolescent Residential Treatment Centers are adopted.Thousands of these adopted youth and their families are treated to a "cookie cutter" approach geared for the general adolescent population and not to their specific needs. We operate out of an adoption-based paradigm that defines our entire program:► An understanding of the dynamics of the adoption triad.► Clinical and Group Living staff trained in working with the unique needs of adopted adolescents in a variety of modalities, including individual, group, and family clinical treatment.► Participation in our unique and proprietary Mustang Alley Wild Mustang Program - the students work with and train wild mustangs to be adopted out.► Recreational and other activities that are designed to facilitate trust and attachment.► Increased family interaction through video-conferencing and our open campus - visits are always encouraged and never restricted.► Resources to facilitate the integration of each part of the adoption triad when available.► Psychoeducation and workshops for family members specific to the adopted family's needs.
