The TRI is a multidisciplinary organization concerned with the interrelated problems of thrombosis and atherosclerosis. The Institute is a Charity and "free-standing" independent research organization that has been established as a joint initiative by the Trustees of the TRI (India) and TRI (London) which have brought together state of the art facilities with a personnel and environment of corporate and research governance. It is now a recognized multi-disciplinary research organization, being the first of its kind in Asia and has already made significant progress in atherothrombosis research. Furthermore, the Institute has been recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology.
