Thumb Signals strives to provide thoughtful, nuanced, and digestible commentary on the U.S. macroeconomic landscape. In each post, the team evaluates events shaping the U.S. economy. Based on the analysis, "Economist X" and Andrew Schultz will synthesize their remarks with a thumbs up, down, or a combo of both. Up equals "positive news" while up/down is "a blend of good and bad" and down is "troubling." To be sure, it is a crude assessment (just ask the gladiators). But, the hope is our thumbs will provide imperfect gauges of current economic conditions in the U.S.
