The British University in Egypt (BUE) has beenenvisioned as a leading research, innovation andtechnology hub in Egypt and MEA region. A mainchallenge to achieve this vision is to close the innovationcycle in order to bridge the gap between research andsocietal needs. This challenge was seen as an opportunityby the BUE to establish the TICO office. The TICOoffice will address innovation as a complete cycle ofplanning, capacity building, research & innovation,technology transfer and finally outreach. Each of thesesteps will eventually lead to bridging the gap between scientific researches in thetechnological field with the market needs. The TICO office will also integrate the localacademic capacity of the BUE with governmental, industrial, and community abilities tosupport innovation in Egypt through different business- driven ventures and funded projects.
