Computer Software - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States
TIES, the Text Information Extraction System, was developed by a team of researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Our mission is to create software that makes medical research easier and more collaborative than ever before, and to pave the way for a national network for translational cancer research. TIES de-identifies, annotates, and indexes your clinical documents, making it easy for your researchers to search for and find the documents and cases that they need. However, TIES is much more than a search engine. It supports ordering and acquisition of tissues through its integration with tissue banks, and makes it possible to engage in secure, collaborative research. In 2013, the TIES Cancer Research Network (TCRN) was formed by the University of Pittsburgh, the University of Pennsylvania, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and Georgia Regents University. The TCRN is using our larger, more diverse sample size and streamlined policies to conduct cutting-edge, cross-institutional cancer research.
