Tim Vizer does freelance work and for the past 30 years had been the Chief Photographer of the Belleville (IL) News-Democrat, a daily newspaper near St. Louis. He's covered the St. Louis metropolitan area, plus professional sports events including the Cardinals, Rams, Blues and St. Louis University sports events.He is a contributing photographer for Agencia EFE based in Madrid -- fourth-largest wire service -- primarily covering international soccer matches.He's covered the MLB All-Star Game, NCAA Women's Final Four, MLS soccer, NASCAR races, the NCAA National Wrestling Championship, the BMW Golf Championship, and the Missouri Valley Conference basketball tournament. In 2008, he was hired by NCAA Photos to cover the NCAA DII World Series.His work has appeared in print for 40 years at the News-Democrat, the St. Louis Globe-Democrat, the Evansville Sunday Courier & Press, the Collinsville Herald, and other news outlets via AP, Agencie QMI in Canada, and MCT/KRT. His freelance work has been published in Sports Illustrated, ESPN, The Sporting News and many other publications and websites.He's also done commercial work for clients including New Balance and Hyundai.Vizer has covered the Super Bowl, World Series, Indianapolis 500, Kentucky Derby, countless collegiate & high school athletic events, many local, regional & national news events including Pope John Paul II's visit to St. Louis, and every U.S. President since Jimmy Carter. He is a member of SportsShooter, Lightstalkers & NPS.He is a former member of the National Press Photographers Association, Illinois and Indiana News Photographers Associations, American Society of Media Photographers, Associated Press Photo Managers, and the Illinois Press Association Technology Committee. He is a former faculty member of the Illinois Press Foundation's Illinois High School Journalism Workshop, and has judged photo contests for both fellow professionals and collegiate photographers.
