Tobene Power SA, a subsidiary of Azura Power, developed, built and is operating a 115 Megawatt heavy fuel power plant in Senegal, based on a 20-years BOO contract with the local utility Senelec. The project benefits from a long term financing package by international institutions lead by the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group).Tobene Power SA is a Senegalese limited liability company established in 2011 for the construction and operation of the power station. The 20-year energy supply contract with Senelec was signed in October 2011.The Tobene power station is an oil-fired power station in Senegal. It is located in Tobene. The plant is a diesel combined Cycle (DCC) and consists of 6 diesel engine generator sets of MAN 18V48/60 type, 18.5 MW each including a steam Turbine of 7.2 MW.The project was successfully comissionned and started commercial operation in 2016.
