Tokotoko Solutions was born of the desire to provide people with the support and skills needed to navigate their time in school, in the workforce and in life.The Tokotoko is a traditional Maori carved ceremonial walking stick. It is a symbol of authority and wisdom and respect that comes with age. With it it comes the responsibility on the holder to pass this knowledge and values on to the next generation.At Tokotoko we see our work as passing this knowledge on and providing a template or raid markers for our young people to work from or follow as they make their journey through life. Our services help ensure our clients, and the agencies that support them, have all the tools required to reach their goals.We focus on result based solutions that puts a person at the front and centre of their own journey, while also assisting with pulling together the services and support available through existing channels like schools, agencies, employers and families.Tokotoko Charitable Trust was set up to help provide:- Improve and enhance the quality of life and wellbeing of individuals and families who have been affected by poverty, financial hardship, significant trauma or whanau displacement- Provide support and guidance towards education, training and employment.- Develop, promote, mentor and support new business start-up initiatives of individuals who are unemployed and/or in poverty.- Work with local and central government agencies, and other interested bodies, to develop policies and outcomes-focused programmes and initiatives.- Provide free programmes and initiatives related to the advancement of education, the promotion of health and fitness (health and wellbeing and recreation) and individual business development, financial planning and management.
