Every business owner needs to answer the question, "Am I ready for a data breach?" Many business owners know they aren't ready. Others think they are ready, but after a few key questions are posed to them, they realize they need to do much more. You, as a business owner/leader, should consider these questions:• Are you ready for a data breach?• Do you need to start putting your business in a more secure position in the event of a data breach?• Wouldn't it be valuable to provide on-going awareness information to keep reasonable data security practices top-of- mind for your employees?Data breaches cannot be stopped; however, businesses owners/leaders can take reasonable steps to put their business in a more secure position in the event of a data breach.Mission Statement:Provide a service, directly to business owners/leaders or as a value-added service through independent insurance agencies and trade associations, making businesses aware of multiple complementary but independent ways to mitigate the risk of privacy legislation, beyond cyber-liability insurance and technology, that are easy to implement and affordable. Vision: Provide "peace of mind" to business owners by making them aware of multiple ways to safeguard sensitive information, giving them various options to address data security, providing on-going employee data security awareness and helping them provide documented proof that they are taking reasonable steps to safeguard personal identifiable information (PII) & protected health information (PHI) the business collects on their employees and customers' employees in the event of a breach.
