Tones was founded as a strict E-Tailer in 2000 out of a need ……. The need to serve customers at an affordable price level. In 2001 the first real store was a fact, adding bricks to the clicks. Tones originally focused on component sales in the glory period of white box building. During the next few years the business model evolved, adding services and value, and positioning Tones as an A-brand. To enlarge their geographical reach, Tones opened a second and larger concept store in August 2006. The idea was to create an environment that engages customers with a lot of demo material and the opportunity to touch and feel everything before you buy. A store that encourages customers to come and see what is going on in the business even without the direct intent to buy. August 2008 was another milestone with the opening of a third retail store. With the shops being geographically spread, Tones was now able to serve 80% of their customer base within half an hour drive. With a workforce of 18 FTE, Tones became more and more focused on customer service, quality and performance. And in 2009 the channel acknowledged Tones' hard work with the award for ‘best Belgian retailer'. Since then Tones has worked closely with Intel, Microsoft and NVidia. Tones managed to become Belgium's largest independent IT Retailer as well as a key influencer for distribution and vendors, providing them with strategic business intelligence. In 2014 the company took another big leap forward. Not only the enterprise opened its fourth retail store in Herentals, but managed to upgrade and make their existing website more user-friendly. In spite of already have conquered the consumer market, Tones kept its ambition. This time the company was on an endeavor to enter the professional market with their products and services. This search resulted in the birth of TonesPro. The company evolved in 15 years from a humble web store to an established value in the IT market.
