DROPPED TOOLS? NOW THERE'S NO EXCUSE... ANY TOOL, TETHER IT WITH TOOL@RREST... Dropped tools are the second most common cause of fatalities in the workplace with c.300 people killed in UK, US and Australia according to official statistics. 'Self-tethering' of tools is a major cause of incident in it's own right and until now, there has been no effective, certified and globally consistent method of tethering tools safely. Established in 2009, Tool@rrest is a privately owned company based in Telford, UK. The business is a leading manufacturer of engineered, certificated solutions to prevent dropped tools in the ‘work at height' sector - providing a complete solution including securing of the tools-in-waiting (tools in the work belt or holster). Our systems centre around a patented solution that uniquely allows the retrofitting of both existing tool stocks and new tools with a certified tether, independently tested to be statistically fail-safe. This is called 'Retr@fit' and it provides a consistently manufactured, engineered tether that is capable of being fitted to the majority of existing hand tools weighing up to 2.5kg and can be carried out on-site or in a factory environment to minimise operational downtime. Having now developed a full range of innovative tool lanyard and containment systems for handling of tools at height, this tether now means tools can be securely attached to an operative's tool belt or safety harness, meaning tools never have to be handled when loose.
