Tortle is an FDA cleared knit beanie that helps prevent and treat Flat Head Syndrome. Tortle is a simple repositioning aid that is recommended for all newborns. Flat Head Syndrome (Plagiocephaly) is a condition that occurs when infants spend long periods of time laying on the back of their heads or in a favored position and a flat spot develops. Infants can spend up to 16 hours laying on their backs when traveling in car seats, in swings, bouncers and strollers. Some babies may be born with Plagiocephaly because of restricted in utero positioning, during the birth process or from extended stays in a neonatal intensive care unit.
