Tourism Transparency is a small independent non-government organization campaigning for an open and accountable tourism industry in Burma. In the light of new challenges and opportunities in Burma, our aim is to raise tourists' political awareness and to motivate them to visit the country responsibly. Our website provides both, political and tourism information about Burma, including briefers on conflicts, tourism business deals or the latest Myanmar government tourism development plan.Our core aim is to provide a simple and transparent instrument to finance a nationwide programme of responsible tourism activities to reduce the impacts of tourism, and enhance awareness and action through access to essential information about responsible tourism options in Burma.We are a well-intentioned group of people who are united by our belief that awareness is the key to a sustainable future. We are global citizens from all over the world and we are tourism experts who are well informed about Burma. We know about the many different interest groups working in and around Burma because we have been involved in the Burmese struggle for democracy for a long time.
