Sullivan's Island is a two and a half-mile long barrier island near the entrance of the Charleston Harbor and is home to 1,891 full-time residents according to the 2020 Census. The Island maintains a long tradition of historic and environmental preservation with multiple National Historic Landmarks, National Register Historic Districts, protected lands and pristine beaches. Residents and visitors have long enjoyed the small-town charm and relaxed lifestyle that the Island has to offer in addition to the many community sponsored special events held each year throughout its quaint commercial district.
