Towni is a web application for sparking a "support local" movement, township by township. It encompasses three components: a real-time marketplace to discover offers from hometown vendors (the ‘Shop'), a centralized fundraising portal for local non-profits (the ‘Fund'), and a community info site in the form of infographics about the town (the ‘Guide').Our business model stems from digital advertising. We'll offer a subscription model for retail merchants to promote their specials or discounts and sell deals via the site. We'll also offer more traditional advertising products for information pages to the wider business community. Our vision is to develop a holistic system of web services that puts the idea of bettering your township front and center – a system that can be automated and replicated anywhere.
