TrackMyDrive is a web based program designed to assist a user in logging and tracking mileage. The program uses a smartphone app to collect GPS coordinates and uploads the data to the website for reporting and analysis.The website is composed primarily of two simple pages. The "trips" page lists all trips that have been recorded for a user. The summary data on any trip can be edited or deleted but the GPS coordinates cannot be manipulated. If a user needs to create a manual trip the option exists on the trips page. This page always displays summary data on miles driven in a calendar year and the anticipated reimbursement or deduction based on IRS standard mileage rates. The second page is a "reports" page. This page allows the user to automatically generate a report for several calendar time periods as well as a custom date range.The phone app is designed to be very elegantly simple. A user simply presses the start button at which time the phone will begin collecting GPS data. When they are done they click the done tracking button. At this point a user is prompted to enter a description of the trip as well as to select the purpose from a dropdown. When complete the user saves this information and it is uploaded to the website at www.trackmydrive.com.
