Founded in the spring of 2020 by 6 High school students, Backline Capital has evolved beyond an idea and has made many gradual steps to becoming a tangible reality. Through the asset management platform, Backline promotes both financial literacy & independence. Company growth is based on a hybrid of increasing client capital & involvement. As a short & long hedge fund, Backline Capital creates a user-specific portfolio emphasizing risk management, ethics, and investment diversity. Backline Capital offers clients and students alike the opportunity to invest in other college startups. Joining Backline Capital gives access to a network of numerous student organizations/companies seeking funding located on campuses nationwide.Regarding wealth management, the majority of the capital given to Backline will be managed and a portion (calculated based on investment size) will go towards Backline's FinTeach Financial Literacy program—providing clients with a comprehension of various investment concepts with the ultimate goal that they can (or at least understand how to) manage their own portfolio in the future.Backline Capital primarily targets other college students looking to earn passive income and learn how to invest in the process. Backline Capital's administration consists of 10 student investors located on college campuses nationwide including UC Berkeley, Baylor University, the University of Southern California, UT Austin, Santa Clara University, Columbia University, San Jose State, & UC Santa Barbara. Backline Capital is currently in its seed funding phase but has collected enough money to begin the integral primary steps of any startup. (Management of over $250,000 in assets)
