Just as surgery has evolved into more minimal invasion, so has the treatment of varicose veins. Foam sclerotherapy is quick, efficient, easy to use and inexpensive, and is widely believed to become the dominant form of therapy for varicose veins." However, UGFS is not generally promoted despite being a low cost, highly effective treatment for CVI. Physicians and other stakeholders with interest and expertise in UGFS have emerged as a distinct group, yet there is no "home" for us, until now. There are no accepted standards for professional development or practice for medical or cosmetic sclerotherapy. TSI members have access to continuing professional development through in person, virtual, and hybrid meetings, as well as electronic communications, mentoring, and networking. The role of TSI is to establish consensus on best practices and inform and educate members, patients and the public, the media, and other stakeholders.
