TRANSFUZOL ("Transfuse All") founded in 2020, in the Far-North Region of Cameroon following observation of real life scenarios of morbidity and mortality - We are a hybrid company (in its pilot phase) venturing in blood banks, seeking to solve problems in blood transfusion, highlighted by WHO: bridge the demand-supply gap in Sub-Saharan Africa; cut time delays; minimize costs on patients and optimise safety. We estimate an annual demand of 120 units of blood per 5000 randomly selected population, a great proportion serving a small subpopulation with obvious high risk of transfusion needs; certain chronic disease patients, children <5years, pregnant women and extremely poor people. This subpopulation unfairly bear the financial, economic and health burden of transfusions. Beyond this group, transfusion needs are sporadic, however very risky due to its unpredictable nature. Our innovation relieves this burden without shifting unfairly on low risk individuals using low premiums to fund collective transfusion needs. A unit transfusion in Cameroon costs averagely 15,000-25,000CFA, so annual premium subscriptions of 5000 CFA generates 25million CFA to manage a calculated stockpile which promptly responds to subscribers needs. We recognise the existence of the extremely poor indigenous subpopulation, who can't afford premiums irrespective, hence we created two supply chains; one served by registered donors, to manage a calculated stockpile covering subscriber needs and another served by unregistered donors to meet the needs of these underprivileged group. Same standard operating procedures are used to collect and store blood, minimising inequalities. We then commit some of our revenues to empower individuals whose humanitarian act (blood donation) drives the engine of the organization. Our model sustainably serves 5 customer segments. We are made of a diverse team comprising medical doctors, software engineer, legal expert, graphics designer and marketing experts.
