Joint Managing Directors Richard Payten and Andrew Mackie launched Transmission in 2008 in partnership with Paramount Pictures Australia. The two distributors collaborate on acquisitions with Transmission overseeing the creative marketing and Paramount bringing their muscle and expertise to all stages of the release. The strength of a major with the focus of an independent – truly the best of both worlds.Richard and Andrew's 18 year partnership has seen them release over 130 films and generate over $260 million at the box office. The films they have acquired and distributed have won 5 Palme d'Ors, been nominated for 42 Academy Awards and received over two hundred Australian Film Institute nominations.
