Trap Decór is a decorative art studio established in 2019 by husband-and-wife duo, D Holmes (Artistic Director) and Steph Holmes (Managing Director). Our work is inspired by narrative, sustainability, & surreal creativity. We reimagine found objects to design and handcraft one-of-a-kind decorative art pieces. Our artistic mission is to express familiar narratives through an unconventional medium - decorative art.At Trap Decór we create original work as well as commissioned work by request. In addition, we regularly collaborate with local designers and artists to be an extension of the collaborator's brand with a touch of TD. Project Highlights include; - The PillowTalk Collection (2020) a series of 6 15"x15" pillows handcrafted with leather, vinyl, fur, and appliques that each embody a particular narrative within the modern-American experience;- How to Mend a Broken Heart (2020) a luxurious collaboration with Charlotte-based clothing house, Amare Dolore, consisting of a hat, jacket, neckroll pillow, and throw blanket - all designed to materialize the need for comfort and confidence when trying to heal a broken heart.
