Trent University's highly respected Forensic Science degree program integrates the study of investigative practice and theory with both science and the law. The forensics programs provide students with access to cutting-edge technology in our new state-of-the-art Forensic Crime Scene Facility. Forensic students also have the opportunity to develop the skills required to succeed in the field through real-world experiences in various specialized forensic science courses. The Forensic Science Society itself is a student-run organization at Trent University, located in Peterborough, Ontario. The Society is made up of students in the three Core programs, B.Sc.F.S., B.Sc.F.B, and B.Sc.F.C. (Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science, Forensic Biology, and Forensic Chemistry, respectively), as well as Joint-Major students (B.A. or B.Sc.) seeking to obtain a degree in the ever-growing field of forensic science. The FSS functions as a way to run forensic-related events which connect forensics students with one another, as well as to various professionals in the field. The Society creates opportunities to advance students' educational interests through different events, opportunities, and trips while creating a sense of community within the forensics program.
