tri is a design studio founded by three designers with different specializations in architecture, interior design, and furniture design. It is the whole and we are the parts. tri encompasses and expresses both our differences and our similarities. Together we experiment, we play, we tri. Our vision is to find common ground where our backgrounds and influences meet. In collaboration we are able to abandon preconceptions of "how to". The outcome of every design process is therefore different and uniquely intimate. The quality of our work is distinctively human, and positions the viewer/user/dweller as part of the work: a collaborator, not just an observer. For us, scale is not an obstacle. It is a motivation. Collectively, our abilities cannot be limited by physical boundaries. Give us your small objects, your little budgets, or your crumbling old buildings yearning to be used anew. We will reimagine them for you.
