We are a Toronto based non-for-profit organization that focuses on giving individuals with down syndrome a platform to develop their creative side, and later on sell their creations.First, we focus on creative growth and development. We'll provide individuals with resources, studio spaces, mentors, and whatever else they may need to materialize a concept. We'll help them create whatever it is they have in mind; whether that's a film, a short story, an art piece, clothing, etc. We encourage members of the program to create something that also has a social message behind it, however it is completely up to the person. We aren't here to tell members of the program what to make, we exist simply to help them achieve their creative goals, whatever that may be.It is our belief that the largest problem adults with down-syndrome face is being able to find employment. After successful development of an individuals' creation, we then provide a platform to sell their creation on our website. The platform does two things for the creators.1) Provides a source of income: Having a stream of income is a sign of independence, a quality many people with Down-syndrome aren't able to fully obtain.2) Provides a sense of fulfilment. The experience of coming up with an idea, then putting in time and hard work to turn that concept into a reality, followed by someone showing their appreciation for your creativity and hard work by purchasing whatever it is you made is the ultimate feeling.
