WHO WE AREFounded in 2017, Trojan Tutoring is a student-led volunteer organization at the University of Southern California. Through our dual program model, we strive to provide high school students with a support system that functions both academically and socially. We pride ourselves on our ability to bridge the gap between high school and college students while building lasting relationships. We currently have two established programs at Foshay Learning Center. The first is an in-class tutoring system and the second is our "Envisioning Futures" mentorship program.TUTORING PROGRAMThe goal of our In-Class Tutoring is to reinforce classroom educational material. We aim to increase the teacher to student ratio and encourage students' academic growth through weekly tutoring sessions with the intention of easing their transition into their plans post-graduation."ENVISIONING FUTURES" MENTORSHIP PROGRAMThe goal of the "Envisioning Futures" mentorship program is to provide thoughtfully designed activities and opportunities to create narratives of potential future selves, aiming to increase the ability to envision future success, increase social support, and build intrinsic motivation in Foshay high school students.FUNDINGFor the 2019-2020 school year, Trojan Tutoring's "Envisioning Futures" was awarded a financial grant through the USC Chan Division of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy as a Wicked Problem Practicum Project. We are excited to use these funds to increase our students' perceived social support, self-rated motivation, and ability to envision future success.
