Tsahim Urtuu Network, the first and largest email network of Mongolian expatriates around the world, was established in 1999. It is funded and maintained by Tsahim Urtuu Holboo NGO.Tsahim Urtuu Network launched its first official website www.tsahimurtuu.mn in 2000 which soon became the first dynamic and most visited news portal website of Mongolia. "Tsahim Urtuu" which means "E-Station" in English became a brand name and "a must-stop electronic STATION" for online surfers. Until dotcom burst in Mongolia and emergence of bloggers in recent years, the www.tsahimurtuu.mn remained as the main source of domestic news for Mongolian expatriates and a meeting place of opinion makers, columnists, freelance journalists, experts and degree seeking students in western countries who actively published their articles, critiques, research papers and commentaries on Tsahim Urtuu e-zine.With over 120 members (40% PhD/ScDs and 60% post-graduates from foreign universities) from more than a dozen different countries, Tsahim Urtuu Holboo has been implementing various notable projects in Mongolia including political lobby and public awareness campaigns for legislation of Voting rights for Mongolians abroad, legislation of Dual citizenship opportunity for Mongolians abroad, 7 wonders of Mongolia initiative (protecting natural sites, intangible and tangible heritages), Huh Gerege project – Green card for Mongolians and Mongolian ethnics around the world and Hazara Student Scholarship Program.
