Telecommunication Software and Systems Group (TSSG) is an internationally recognised centre of excellence for ICT research and innovation. The TSSG's core expertise is in telecommunications networks, cloud and mobile services, it's purpose is to always be ahead of the transformation curve in ICT, with most of its research driving towards the "Future Internet". TSSG researchers are among Ireland’s leading telecommunications and software engineering experts whose work sees them partner with academic and global industry leaders and telecommunication vendors in Asia, Europe and America. The Group has created over 120 positions for research staff and students. It has become an important catalyst for driving economic change, transforming its best research ideas into successful start up companies. TSSG promotes intellectual exchange, strategic partners gain access to world-class knowledge, expertise, assets, staff, students, and leading edge facilities. This has enabled the TSSG to successfully collaborate with over 90 Irish companies on strategic research. TSSG are also actively engaged in many European technology platforms that define the research agenda for EU wide ‘Future Internet’ networks and services. TSSG was originally founded by Willie Donnelly, Eamon deLeaster, Dr Mícheál Ó Foghlú in 1996 .
