The Turfhall Cheshire Home is a registered non-profit and public benefit organisation (NPO 014-845 & PBO 930025578). We provide 24-hour specialised care and permanent accommodation to 60 severely disabled adults. Our residents are from the poorest of the poor communities and rely on the Turfhall Cheshire Home and their Carers to provide the specialised care they deserve.We are appealing to Companies, Individuals, Trusts & Foundations to consider supporting the Turfhall Cheshire Home for possible financial assistance towards the sustainability of the Home. 100% of donations go directly to the Turfhall Cheshire Home and a receipt for donations received in terms of Section 18A of the Income Tax Act No 58 of 1962 will be issued.Our objectives are to work in partnership with people with disabilities to provide residential accommodation and other community services to promote independent living and attainment of personal aspirations. Also to initiate projects that address social and economic inequalities, thereby alleviating poverty and facilitating the social integration of people with disabilities into mainstream society.Although we run independently, we are affiliated to the international Leonard Cheshire Disability Global Alliance. Lord Leonard Cheshire, a highly acclaimed Royal Air Force pilot during World War II, who received the Victoria Cross for gallantry, started the charity for disabled ex-servicemen in 1948.
