Museums & Institutions - Lorton, Virginia, United States
The Turning Point Suffragist Memorial is located in Occoquan Regional Park. It began as an initiative of the League of Women Voters of the Fairfax Area and the Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority, now known as NOVA Parks. It has become the first national memorial detailing the entire suffrage movement. The garden-style memorial includes 19 informational stations, three statues of famous suffragists, a commemorative wall, and a section of the White House fence where suffragists known as "Silent Sentinels" stood demanding their rights.
