UAlberta Sororities is a local member of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). The organization is run by the University of Alberta Panhellenic Council, a group of women elected to plan recruitment and programming for the Panhellenic and Greek communities.The Council is responsible for holding its local member organizations accountable through its judicial procedures. This ensures the organization and its members act in accordance with NPC and local governing documents. The Council is made up of officers from each member organization, as well as delegates who represent each member organization's voice in voting procedures. The Council also serves to maintain respect and sisterhood between the member organizations through cooperation and collaboration. Current member organizations at the University of Alberta include Alpha Gamma Delta, Delta Gamma, Kappa Alpha Theta, and Pi Beta Phi.Recruitment to all four UAlberta member organization sororities starts the beginning of September. The week-long process consists of several activities, including house tours, chapter pride, philanthropy, preference night, and bid day. These events are designed to help recruits determine the house that best meets their needs. To ensure both parties involved are in agreement of the choice made, a mutual selection process between current house members and the potential recruit take place prior to finalizing the house selection made by the recruit.
