Welcome to the UBC Aqua Society! The scuba diving club of the University of British Columbia, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada. The UBC Aqua Society is one of the oldest SCUBA diving clubs in Canada with near 600 members. Membership is open to anyone provided they are a certified diver or enrolled in an open water course. You don't have to be a UBC student to dive with us! All are welcome. The UBC Aqua Society separates itself from the rest of the dive community by integrating the social laidback feel of a club with the professionalism, and services of a "regular" dive shop. The club is a 100% non-profit organization, which provides a number of benefits for you the diver. All money made goes directly back into the club. This may be in the form of free pizza at one of our club meetings, free bbq's at one of our local club dives, or in the form of high quality rental equipment (Diver propulsion vehicles, digital camera's and all rental bcd's are weight integrated!). As part of an education facility, we pride ourselves in training good divers, with good diving habits, and promoting continuing education courses to meet their personal goals with your safety at top of our mind. This is our primary focus and will continue to be. As a customer service for our members we most certainly offer a wide selection of gear available for sale and service, as well as Enriched Air, tank fills, and a vast array of PADI sanctioned courses from discover scuba diving to instructor development courses. Our on-site shop managers are available for consultation with any of your dive related questions, comments and concerns.
