About the Harnessing Online Peer Education (HOPE) COVID-19 Vaccine Study: Lead researcher, Sean Young, PhD, and researchers from the Department of Emergency Medicine at UCI are conducting a study to utilize our previously tested HOPE online community intervention to connect peer leaders with healthcare personnel choosing not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Over the 4-week online intervention we aim to understand the perceived risks and benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine and ways to address them. Eligibility criteria: 18-30 years old, a U.S. resident, a healthcare personnel who works in a clinical setting or has direct contact with potentially contaminated materials, have NOT received the COVID-19 vaccine BUT have access to a location and the ability to receive the vaccine, and use social media. Responsibilities of participants:Participants will join a Facebook group for 4 weeks. They will also be asked to complete an online questionnaire (at baseline and at 4-weeks; approximately 15 minutes each). If on the 4-week survey, a participant responds that they have received the vaccine, we will invite them to text/email us a picture of their vaccine card. If all surveys and tasks are completed, participants will be compensated a total of $50 in Amazon gift cards. If interested in being a participant, please take the screening survey below to check for eligibility.https://uci.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8wZ3fyovTA5vIln?AdSource=LNP For any questions, please contact our study team at hopecovid@hs.uci.edu.
