'Udaan', a word deriving from Hindi, translates to 'flight' or 'flying high'.Why 'Udaan'? Udaan signifies the idea that anyone can fly high. Sometimes we get stuck in our own stories, which hinders our ability to soar. Udaan intends to entrust a sense of empowerment in adoptees all over the world. Udaan was born during the month of National Adoption Awareness month in November of 2018. Each one of us has a story to share and each one of our stories is different. We thought, why not share it and encourage others to share theirs? Being adopted can be difficult for the adoptee as well as the family of the adoptee. While some handle it exceptionally, others have a hard time accepting it.Udaan aspires to share the stories of adoptees and adopters globally. Our goal is to enrich the lives of everyone around us and show them how we overcome our own challenges of being adopted and adopting, one feeling at a time. Our founder, Angana Maheshwari, has her own story, which inspired her to create this platform and help other adoptees empower themselves.
