Established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the National Rail and Transportation Institute (NRTI) is a pioneer in the field of transport education in India. It is the first-of-its-kind university with a vision to develop a cadre of young graduates who are empowered problem-solvers with an actionable understanding of the transportation ecosystem.NRTI offers an exclusive transformative learning experience and environment, both on campus under the guidance of its globally accomplished faculty and off it with the Indian Railways as the practice hub, to transform graduates into responsible nation-builders.NRTI offers two under graduate courses, BSc in Transportation Sciences and BBA in Transportation Management, both the undergraduate courses, run in trimester mode with nine trimesters in total, having a duration of three years and are worth 140 credits.There are two compulsory internships on offer for practical exposure, one with Indian Railways at the end of first year, and the other one with industry, at the end of sophomore year. In addition, all the undergraduate students compulsorily have to submit a thesis/project at the end of their degree.
