UKCoD is the umbrella body for voluntary organisations working with deaf people in the UK. Our mission is to assist organisations and the sector as a whole to maximise the positive impact they have for deaf people.UKCoD is a vital interface with government, hosting conferences which address many different issues affecting deaf people. So far we have seen our work and profile increase by our latest dialogue with the Government Departments such as DCMS, DWP, NHS through the support from the All Party Parliamentary Group on Deafness. Our recent highlights have been regarding the Access to Work cap, BSL inquiry session and the BSL GCSE recognition issue, Deaflympics recognition and Deaf Access in Communications liaisons with Ofcom to name just a few.Membership is open to Charities and organisations in the field of deafness. The breadth of membership enables UKCoD to be an effective influencing body.
