Higher Education - , Limerick, Ireland
Our aim as a society is the integration of international students into the campus life of the University of Limerick and Ireland in general. The idea behind setting this up was to break the boundary between the Irish students and the international students in UL.Our mission statement can be summed up by the mantra of ‘Students Helping Students'. We believe that an active international society not only boosts the reputation of a university but it also embraces the very idea of the EU-funded Erasmus programme and international student exchange programmes in general – the meeting and embracing of young people from different countries and cultures from around the world. We believe that an international society that is run by fellow students in the home university is the best facilitator for this kind of integration. We believe that it is international exchange programmes and international societies like ours that dispel prejudices about other people and nations.
