Performing Arts - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, United States
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Pauper Players is the premier musical theatre company on campus. Founded in 1989, Pauper Players seeks to create avenues for Carolina students to organize and perform full-scale musical productions. UNC Pauper Players got its name from the abundant conviction that despite the limited resources with which the company's founders started, students are capable of putting on quality musical productions. Now celebrating our 28th season, UNC Pauper Players has grown to be a prominent arts organization on UNC's campus and produces one full-length, main stage show every semester, in addition to a Broadway Revue and a shadow cast production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. UNC Pauper Players has also increased it's commitment to community outreach with the creation of the Pauper Performance Troupe, a group that performs musical theatre numbers at campus events, hospitals, and retirement homes, and workshop festivals that occur every semester.
