UNION OF ECOLOGISTS (UNECO) is an association of citizens that is directed to systematic and organised involvement in environmental protection. The Union includes individuals and legal entities, i.e. individuals as well as institutions, organisations, companies, non-governmental organisations, other citizens associations that are interested for ecologic actions, projects and programs, as well as individual involvement in environmental protection, sustainable development, i.e. improvement in quality of life.The Union of Ecologists, as an association, is open for cooperation with every institution and organisation that is directed towards environmental protection, quality of life in harmony with nature and integration of society based on general exercising of human rights and freedoms. UNECO is directed to systematic and organised involvement in all spheres of environmental protection, especially in biodiversity protection, integrated management of natural resources, as well as support for minimisation and recycling of municipal and industrial waste and bio-hazardous waste treatment. Since 2006, the network creation started by foundation of UNECOOP in town Paracin, and then during 2010 within the Dialogue EU-Serbia for applied ecology project, financed by European delegation in Serbia, 9 regional organizations of civil society were founded.- Regional UNECO Bačka- Regional UNECO Banat- Regional UNECO Srem- Regional UNECO Podrinje- Regional UNECO West Serbia - Regional UNECO Podunavlje- Regional UNECO West Pomoravlje- Regional UNECO Rasina- Regional UNECO South SerbiaDuring 2012 the network has been spread to the Republika Srpska with foundation of the NGO: UNECO Banja Luka.
