UNESCO-APCEIU(Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding) is a Category II Centre established in 2000 by the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and UNESCO to promote and develop Education for International Understanding, currently regarded as Global Citizenship Education(GCED). APCEIU plays a pivotal role in promoting GCED reflected in both the UNESCO Education 2030 and UN Sustainable Development Goals. Guided by the UNESCO Recommendation concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedom(1974) and the Declaration and Integrated Framework of Action on Education for Peace, Human Rights and Democracy(1995), UNESCO-APCEIU seeks to integrate individuals, communities, nations, and international/global systems, as well as to foster a sustainable relationship between humanity and nature.
