Union Cement Norcem Co. (UCN): The U.A.E. and the Regional Oil Well Cement Supplier with global experience and expertise.UCN is a joint venture company, established in 1980, between Union Cement Company of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE and Norcem A.S., Norway to supervise production, to assure the quality and to market the oil well cement in the Gulf Region.Norcem A.S. is the sole cement producer in Norway and has since oil was discovered in 1969 been the main supplier of special cements to the oil industry in Norway, whether it is well cements, cement for concrete platforms or cement for inland gas/liquid treatment plants. In 1999 Norcem was merged with HeidelbergCement Group in Germany and is therefore a part of a significant worldwide building material group.Norcem has in addition to Norway, also served to the markets in the U.S.A., Denmark, Iceland, Russia, Great Britain and West Africa.Norcem obtained the authorization by API (American Petroleum Institute) in 1971 and has since then maintained the API Monogram rights.As the management and the API license are vested with Norcem, the authorization to use the API monogram was obtained in 1980 for UCN with license no. 34.1.All API well cements from UCN and Norcem are sold under the brand name "Norwell", well accepted and appreciated for its level of quality. The main Norwell product line is API Class G cement. Classes A, B and C can also be made available.UCN Quality Assurance System is certified in compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, API Spec Q1 and API Spec 10A (ISO 10426-1).UCN has now become the major supplier of oil well cement to the countries surrounding the Gulf Region.
