Union of Astronomy Bandaranayake college Gampaha is one of very first Astronomical societies that started in Sri Lankan Government School. As it is formed on 20th March 1996. It was started with 34 senior members and 12 junior members under the conduction of Mr. Ranjith Fernando.After 10 years the Advisor &Consultant in Astronomy and Space Science,Former General Secretary of Sri Lankan Astronomical & Space Science Association, and Founder & Patron of Arthur C . Clark institute of modern Tech. Sir. Christie Pillai had named the Union of Astronomy as the " Most active astronomical society in Sri Lanka" .Union Of Astronomy had convey Astronomical knowledge all over the Sri Lanka and create many Legends to the World for past two Decades.
