Imagine a world in which no prejudice exists based upon race, creed, color—or intellectual capacity. That is the world that we at United by Music, and our growing support base, envision. In our case, we have turned to the power of music to bring people together. United by Music is a non-profit organization that supports musically talented people with intellectual disabilities and gives them a chance to perform on stage. We aim to improve the quality of life for the artists and challenge public attitudes about people with intellectual disabilities, showing that we are more alike than we are different by profiling the exceptional talents of these extraordinary people. United by Music is an international organization and currently has a basis in the Netherlands (www.unitedbymusic.nl) and North America (www.ubmna.org).
