Within the next decade, India will experience a large shift towards urbanization: more than 200 million people will resettle from rural India towards urban centers. This shift is extreme in size, roughly equal to Uttar Pradesh's population, India's most populated state. United for Hope is determined to transforming rural India into a place of opportunity and prosperity through a Smart Village approach. Our Smart Village pilot project represents a holistic approach based on 3 pillars: Social Enterprise, Education, and Community Service. The first pillar of Social Enterprise combines job creation, with the supply of basic needs such as clean water and solar energy to improve the standard of life and identify local-specific new markets such as tourism. We work with our partner social enterprise Shakti Empowerment Solutions around social enterprise to form a hybrid for- & not-for-profit synergy. Our second pillar of Education supports the first pillar to counter skills shortage. We educate the whole community through different approaches such as vocational training & after-school education aiming to influence mindset, open new perspectives and mentor for more dignified futures. The third pillar of Community Service entails solutions to health, access to digital services & information. We work closely with the local leadership & government to advocate for better infrastructure, funding & improved facilities.United for Hope is a need-based grass-root NGO, registered in India, Germany, France & the US.
