United Foundation of Central Florida, Inc., (UFCF) is a 501(c)(3) public foundation focused on early intervention, leading to prevention. With the foundation's focus on Early Intervention, it's important that as a community we understand that the quality of your child's life during the first five years will set the stage for future learning and success. Ninety percent of a child's brain is developed before the age of 5. Within those early years it's important that our children get the same educational opportunities across the country. Statistics provided by the Florida Department of Education show that one-third of Orange County children are unprepared for kindergarten. In 2012, one in six Orange County public elementary schools started with 50 percent of the kindergarten identified as "not ready." We have a responsibility as citizens of this community and the world, to leave this world better than we saw it; by doing all that we can to invest in the education of our young people, encourage unity, promote family, encourage growth and invest in programs and leadership that empower communities' one family at a time. One of the most important decisions you will ever make as a parent or guardian is "to choose quality child care for your child or children."United Foundation of Central Florida, Inc. will work with all the residents, business owners, elected officials, media partners, community partners, leaders, churches, schools, daycares, governmental and law enforcement agencies to implement the best solutions for each community to provide the solutions that will positively yield the results that work for our communities. UFCF's Board of Directors decided to answer the communities concerns to provide proven solutions, by researching programs that work to clean up communities. The Tangelo Park Program is one of the most successful to date. It was a natural choice Positively with a mission to partner and unite with local community and neighborhood organizations.
