Where a Handyman can get certified and the customer can find a certified handyman that fits their need or verify their current handyman. To become certified with the UHA the handyman must have a properly structured business with insurance and pass a background screening performed by the UHA. Being certified by the UHA is an honor and hiring a certified handyman through the UHA you can feel confident they are screened, verified and meet the UHA standards. The UHA is an advocate for the handyman and their rights and the consumers right to information and regulation in place to enable the hiring of a handyman to be secure with the same confidence as a licensed contractor knowing that the UHA is independently verifying the business and its practices. Offering an easy search verification through the HLB Handyman License Board. If your handyman is in business they are required to carry a proper business license and insurance that meets their trade requirements. The UHA and the HLB are the consumers way to verify their handyman meets the standards required to run an ethical business. Unless your handyman is structured and insured you have no protection as the consumer. The UHA Certifies the Handyman and offers a $5k guarantee that the business is properly structured, verified and meets the UHA and State Required Standards to perform a service business. The UHA is an advocate for handyman rights but believes in the responsibility of any business owner to deserve their rights.
