UMA exists to empower the Christians of India transform their nation for Christ.Rather than long-term dependence on others, these disciples effectively serve as missionaries of Christ within their own cultural context.UNITED MISSIONS ABROAD SERVES INDIA IN THREE WAYS:1. CHILD SPONSORSHIP:The AIDS epidemic in India has a significant impact on countless children. UMA seeks to make known this enormous need and identify individuals, families or groups to sponsor a needy child. The UMA Difference ensures your sponsored child will receive exceptional care. Christian social workers identify able family members to care for children affected by AIDS and make regular house visits to provide your child with emotional, physical, and spiritual support.2. INDIA BIBLE INSTITUTE:Partnering with the Vineyard Bible Institute, UMA is able to train hundreds of pastors in India with the Vineyard curriculum. UMA leaders and volunteers travel to India three times a year providing theological training through IBI that leads to a Diploma of Ministry.Completion of these courses provides training, credibility, relational support and connection for the pastors enrolled.3. VINEYARD CHURCH PLANTING:India has a population of 1.3 billion people and is predominately a Hindu society, with only 2% being Christian. 85% of Christian pastors serve without any formal theological training or ecclesiastical support. Through the India Bible Institute, UMA trains church leadershipand has the opportunity to establish new Churches across the country.
