Operations began on 1 July 2010 under the South-East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail) Act 2009, as part of the Queensland Government water reform program. Unitywater is governed by an independent Board of Directors. Unitywater is formally endorsed by Work180 with a commitment to driving equity in the workplace.
