Established in 1953, University Democrats is the largest and oldest political organization at the University of Texas at Austin and the leading force of progressive student activism in the state of Texas. Today, we are one of the largest College Democrats chapters in the country. Whether it is getting progressive candidates elected to serve the people of Texas, encouraging students to participate in the political process or working to influence policy in the Capitol, University Democrats work tirelessly in various aspects of the political system to bring Democratic values to UT, the state of Texas and the nation.
