University of Central Asia [UCA] has been established through an international treaty signed in August 2000 [the "Treaty"] between the Republic of Tajikistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan [collectively called as "Founding States"] and His Highness the Aga Khan. The treaty has been ratified by the respective Parliaments of all the three Founding States and is registered with the United Nations in accordance with the Article 102 of the Charter of the United Nations. UCA has been created to offer an internationally recognized standard of higher education in Central Asia and create knowledgeable, skilled and creative graduates who will contribute leadership, ideas and innovations to the transitioning economies and communities of the region.
