The Actuarial and Statistics Society, popularly known as UGASS is a student society or union of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science of the University of Ghana. Our vision is to nurture student aspiration and representation in the field of Statistics and Actuarial sciences and its professions by providing avenues that enhances teaching, learning and interaction among students, lecturers and the professionals. We achieve this end mainly through initiation of intellectually stimulating and engaging programmes, hands-on practice projects that involve interaction with accomplished professionals, as well as other social and entertaining events. The society works expeditiously with the administration of the department to create a distinguished learning experience of our members.Values The Adinkra Symbol as seen in our logo is called ‘Nkyinkyim'' which means Twisting, an embodiment of two of our cherished values, Dynamism and Resilience.Dynamism and Resilience We will resolve to be abreast with current development, versatile in our leadership to help nurture all rounded students who are relevant to the development of all the sectors of our industry, country and world.
